Mary Alice Thompson Stevens' Obituary
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Mary Thompson Stevens, age 91, went to be with her loving Lord after an extended illness in the comfort of her home. Mary was born to Eugene and Florrie Thompson in Branchville, South Carolina, on February 8, 1934.
In 1954, Mary married the love of her life, K.M. (Donald) Stevens. They were happily married for 63 years when Donald passed in 2017.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents and six siblings- Floydell McAlhany, Mae Brickle, Eloise Dukes, Lib Bennett, Tommy Thompson, and Bill Thompson.
Mary is survived by two siblings- James Thompson (Lenore) and Catherine Schunhoff (Tommy). She is also survived by her three children- Faye S. Kinard (Buddy), Gail Branham, and Ken Stevens, Jr. (Pam).
Mary loved and cherished her four grandchildren- Phillip Schurr, Jason Noel, Casey S. Johnston (Ryan), and Brock Stevens (Heather) and her four great grandchildren- Olivia Johnston, Jax Johnston, Lainey Johnston, and K.J. Stevens.
Mary loved her life, her family, her church, and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.
The Celebration service will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 18, at Edisto Baptist Church, 4831 Edisto River Road, Branchville, SC, with Reverend Jakie Walters officiating. The family will receive condolences one hour before the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Edisto Baptist Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
