Mary T Thompson's Obituary
Branchville
Mrs. Mary T. Thompson, 70 years of age, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born November 30, 1940. She was a daughter of Mabel Turner and the late Marvin L. Turner, and the widow of the late C. Kenneth Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was an administrative assistant under former Orangeburg County Sheriff C.R. Smith. She worked in the Orangeburg County Municipal Building for multiple judges, and later served as secretary for the county delegation until her retirement. She was a member of the Prospect Southern Methodist Church for the past 43 years.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 6, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., at Prospect Southern Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Collett officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherri (Everett) McAlhany, of Reevesville, one son, Ken (Renee) Thompson of Knoxville, TN, four sisters, Faye (William) Thompson, Barbara (Boone) Walters, both of Branchville, Marvine (Joseph) Rickborn of Reevesville, and Yvonne (John) Spell of Smoaks. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Shanna Thompson, Blake Shieder, Sammie Thompson, Kayla Shieder, and Emily McAlhany, one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Mae Thompson, and a number of nieces and nephews. She left behind three special friends, June Holm, Henry Donahue, and Larry Hendricks. She is preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Turner.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 4 to 6 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville, or friends may call at the residence, 130 Thomken Rd. Memorials may be made to Prospect Southern Methodist Church, 344 Flatwoods Rd., Bowman, SC, 29018, or Thompson Cemetery, c/o Savon Gramling, 522 Falls Dr., Bowman, SC, 29018.
