Mattie Bell Collier's Obituary
Branchville
Mrs. Mattie Bell Collier, 93 years of age, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Mrs. Collier was born in Cattle Creek, a daughter of the late John Ellison Connor and May Belle Summers Connor. Mrs. Collier loved fishing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church and the widow of the late Hubert Griffith Collier.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 2:00 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery in Branchville.
She is survived by one son, Johnny Collier of Branchville, two daughters, Emma Williams of Branchville Nancy C. Fair (Ben) of Orangeburg, two sisters, Margaret Balzano of James Island, and Betty Rae Hutto of Branchville, one son in law LeGrand Fender of St. George, five grandchildren, Darlene Bell (Kevin), Carla Newsome (Kenny), Kim Leggett (Chad), Benji Fair, and Timmy Collier. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Leslie Buckman (David), Devin Bell, Carlie Gainey (Brian), Madison Leggett, Carter Leggett, Jake Collier, and Ella Collier, three great great grandchildren, Kaigen Anna & Kenley Gainey, and Camden Buckman, honorary grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Brittany, and Haley Hess, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two fishing buddies, Gladys Crum, and Willard Wolfe,and two other special friends, Alva Leviner and Dale Hoover. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Collier Fender, one sister, Cora Fabian, and one brother, Lee Connor.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5 to 7 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; at other times friends may call at the residence of Carla and Kenny Newsome. Memorials can be made to Branchville United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be made at www.ottfh.com.
