Millard Philmore Thompson's Obituary

Mr. Millard P. "Bill" Thompson, 81 years of age, died Thursday, October 25, 2012. Mr. Thompson was born in Colleton Co., a son of the late Thomas Eugene Thompson Sr. and Florrie Smith Thompson. Mr. Thompson was retired from V.P. Kizer Lumber Co. in Bowman; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He loved farming, horses, cattle, took great pride in his flower garden, and he was an avid hunter. Mr. Thompson was a member of Edisto Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the community.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 3:00 P.M., at Edisto Baptist Church, with Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M., at the church, before the services.
Mr. Thompson is survived by four siblings, Elizabeth "Lib" Bennett of Smoaks, Mary Stevens "Donald" of Branchville, Catherine Schunhoff "Tommy" of Valdosta GA, and James M. Thompson "Lenore" of Branchville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by siblings, Floydell T. McAlhany, Mae T. Brickle, Eloise T. Dukes, and Tommy E. Thompson Jr.
