Myrle W. Yaun, 95, went to be with her Lord & Savior on January 29, 2009.
Myrle was born in Branchville, S.C. (Orangeburg County) & has resided in Pensacola since April 1985. She is a charter & active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church & Hope Circle of United Methodist Women. A member of Victory Chapter #16, Order of Eastern Star, Chesapeake, VA & Past Matron. Past member of Branchville U.M. Church, Branchville, S.C.; Asbury U.M. Church, Charleston, S.C.; Cradock U.M. Church, Portsmouth, VA; Baylake U.M.Church, Virginia Beach, VA. Past President of So. Car. Conference Young Adult Fellowship & an organizer of Marable Young Adult Class, Cradock U.M. Church. She was active in her community PTA & Band Parents, Scouts, Red Cross Volunteer & Church activities. Hobbies: cooking, gardening, and sewing.
Her parents Dove Lee & Eugenia Thompson Westbury, her husband Wm. Warren Yaun, Sr., two brothers Donald & D.C. Westbury, a sister Carrie W. Russell & daughter-in-law Helen Tew Yaun preceded her in death.
Myrle is survived by her son Col.(R) Wm. Warren Yaun, Jr. & wife Darla of Alexandria, VA; a daughter Joan W. Bamette, Smithfield, VA; sisters: Elizabeth W. McInnes, Charleston, S.C.;
Annelle W. Rickenbaker, Orangeburg, S.C.; Mildred W. Baker, Harleyville, S.C.; six grandchildren: Teresa Y. Taylor, Matthews, N.C.; Sharon Y. Tiller, London, KY; Wm. Warren Yaun, III, Oak Ridge, TN; Tamara R. Munford, Ivor, VA; Cynthia B. Weger, Fairfax, VA; & Thomas Bamette, Smithfield, VA; twelve great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.
On Wednesday at 11:00 AM, Feb. 18, 2009 a memorial service will be held at Branchville United Methodist Church, Branchville, S.C. followed by burial in Sardis U.M. Church Cemetery, Branchville. Ott Funeral Home, Branchville, is serving the family. A memorial service was held at St. Luke U.M.Church, 11:00 AM, Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. Rose Lawn Funeral Home served the family in Pensacola, FL.
