Patricia Smoak Watson's Obituary
Patricia Smoak Watson, 80, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 6, 2025. Born on September 17, 1945, she was the daughter of Lutrel Mims and Esther Hope Floyd, both of whom preceded her in death.
Patricia's life was one of service, love, and faith. She was predeceased by her first husband, Earle Jennings Smoak Jr., and is survived by her devoted husband, Aubrey Watson. Patricia's legacy lives on through her children, Michael (Sharon) Smoak, Anna (Joe) Harvley, and Ander (Jennifer) Watson. Her grandchildren, Drake (Lindsey) Smoak, Jesse Smoak, Chase Watson, Cameron Smoak, Watson Harvley, Grayson Watson, and AudreyAnna Harvley, were a constant source of joy for her. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Janice Hope Mims (Sherwood Dean) Herndon, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss her presence.
A proud graduate of Holly Hill High School and the Orangeburg School of Nursing, Patricia dedicated more than 40 years to her calling as a pediatric nurse, providing compassionate care to countless children. Her heart for service extended far beyond her profession; Patricia was a faithful member of Four Holes Baptist Church, where she served as a dedicated pianist, children's Sunday school teacher, and leader of the Good News Club and Lunch Bunch Group. She loved her church family and was passionate about spreading the message of Christ, not only in her local community but around the world through mission trips.
In her personal life, Patricia had a love for gardening, reading, and cooking, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished. A woman of deep faith, Patricia was a kind and loving soul who always sought to make the world a better place by sharing the love of Jesus wherever she went.Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is now with her Savior and rejoicing in the peace and joy that only He can provide. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia's impact will be felt by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her love, faith, and devotion to her family and God will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:30 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating Patricia's life at 3:30 PM at Four Holes Baptist Church, 1622 Four Holes Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115. Patricia will be laid to rest in the Four Holes Baptist Church Cemetery, where her family and friends will gather to honor her memory and reflect on the profound impact she made in their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Four Holes Baptist Church Building Fund, to support the continued growth and mission of the church that Patricia loved so dearly.
