Peggy D. Smith's Obituary
Rowesville
Mrs. Peggy D. Smith, 72 years of age, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Mrs. Smith was born in Rowesville, a daughter of the late Dennis Edmond Dukes and Clarice Edwards Dukes. She was an active member of Cattle Creek United Methodist Church and attended Columbia College. Mrs. Smith enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time with her two granddaughters. She was a lifelong resident of the Cattle Creek Community. She was the widow of the late Sam Smith and the late Herbert Branham.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at Cattle Creek United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kermit Shrawder officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Dennis "Denny" Branham of Branchville, two granddaughters, Ashby O'Cain (Chris) of Orangeburg, and Emma Kay Branham of Conway, two sisters, Jackie Dantzler (Mack) of Orangeburg and JoAnn Lightfoot (Mike) of Rowesville, one brother, John "Buck Shot" Dukes (Joan) of Rowesville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; at other times, friends may call at the residence of Denny Branham.
