Phillip McCollum's Obituary
Reevesville
Mr. Phillip McCollum, 82 years of age, died Monday, March 29, 2010. Mr. McCollum was born in Sally, S.C., a son of the late William R. McCollum and Laura H. McCollum. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and settled in the Orangeburg area, after his discharge. He was retired from Rodeway Express and a member of the Teamsters Union #509 and VFW Post #2779. He was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Inez Hutto McCollum, of Reevesville. He is also survived by sons, James "Mac" Singletary and his wife, Marilyn, of Orangeburg, David Singletary and wife, Betty, of Cordova, Myers Hutto and his wife, Sharon, of Fredericksburg, Va., and daughter, Tanya Hutto Curran of Rock Hill. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a special friend, "Shadow".
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 3:00 P.M., at Reevesville Baptist Church, with Dr. Ron Heddle, Dr. Robert Rowell, and Rev. Robert Frederick officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Reevesville, S.C.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. At other times, friends and family may call at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
