Branchville
Mr. Raymond J. Hardwick, 91 years of age, died Monday, May 24, 2010. Mr. Hardwick was born in Airton AL. a son of the late Robert C. Hardwick, and Nola L. Hardwick. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Lions Club, American Legion, Fisher of Men. He also served as The Chief of Police for Branchville, and was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 27, 2010, at 3:00 P.M. from the chapel of Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with Rev. Grady Corder and Rev. Bert Fersner officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Branchville. Pallbearers will be Sammie Ruple, Charlie Pace, Timmy Cooner, Gene Bennett, Chad Hardwick, Cody Zimbro, and Ryan Hardwick. Honorary pallbearers will be the Branchville United Methodist Church Fellowship Class, Jesse Zimbro , Joshua Ecklar, Owen Hardwick, and Jackson Kodes.
Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Bessie P. Hardwick of Branchville, one son Ray Hardwick (Nancy) of Maryland, two daughters, Libby Ruple (Sammie) of Branchville, and Virginia Yongue (Wayne) of Gaston, one sister, Vera Ethridge of Ladys Island. Also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, and at other times friends may call at the residence, 4106 Calhoun St. Memorials may be made to the Branchville United Methodist Church Fellowship Class.
