Reevesville
Mr. Robert W. Hughes Jr., 84 years of age, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Hughes was born in Orangeburg Co., a son of the late Robert W. Hughes Sr. and Lillian Dukes Hughes. He served in the United States Air Force, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was the first chief of the Cattle Creek Fire Department; he loved spending time on the Edisto River; he was the owner of Hughes Logging.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 11:00 A.M., at the Thompson Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Bogstad officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Patricia T. Hughes of Reevesville, three daughters, Paula Walters, of Branchville, Patra Breland (Steve), of Reevesville, and Bobbie H. Dukes, of Reevesville, six grandchildren, Ricky Wolfe, Faron McAlhany, Taylor Dukes, Robbie Dukes, Kathryn Christmas, and Hailey Breland, and one great grandson, Mason McAlhany.
