Ronald (Ronnie) K. Nettles, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 22, 1959, in Florence, SC.Ronnie enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, fishing, and farming with a Pepsi in his hand. He loved spending time with his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren.Ronnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Though he wasn't much of a people person, people loved him. To know him, was to love him.
Most days, you would find Ronnie tinkering with one of his numerous gadgets and planning his next project. His favorite restaurant was huddle house, and you would never catch him wearing anything other than his cargo shorts, and a tank top.He was also a well gifted metal artist with majority of his work done on Long Island, New York. To include the Southampton Fire Department 911 Memorial Fountain, and many other creations.
He is the son of the late Norman Isaac Nettles, and Kathleen Stone Norton. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wolf Nettles, his son Brandon K. Cooper (Amber Blalock), his daughters Crystle Nettles Thomas (Zac Thomas), and Rebecca Nettles West (Sam West), his stepson Mathew Catalfamo (Jess Catalfamo), Stepdaughter Danielle Catalfamo (Ryan Smarrelli), and Stepson Greg Catalfamo (Yasemin Ertem). His grandchildren include Jackson Cooper, Layla Cooper, Elin Thomas, Zyker Thomas, Joanna West, and Sofia Smarrelli.
He was predeceased by his brother, Larue Mendal Nettles (Debbie Nettles).His surviving brothers are Norman (Rocky) Nettles (Ruby Nettles), and Steve Nettles (Dawn Nettles). He also has numerous nieces and nephews that loved him.
A private celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date. The family will be accepting flowers at the Nettles residence in Elloree.
