Ruben G. Garrick Sr.'s Obituary

Mr. Ruben Gordon Garrick Sr., 62 years of age, went to his eternal rest on January 29, 2013. Mr. Garrick was born in Orangeburg, a son of the late Rubert Garrick and Lula Mae Boltin Garrick. He was a former employee of Ballard Parts, Thomas Auto Parts, Fairey Motor Co., and was the owner of Ruben's Lawn Service. Mr. Garrick was also an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved spending time with his family and friends and watching western movies.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., at Two Mile Baptist Church, near Cope, with Rev. James William officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services. Pallbearers will be Timmy Valentine, Bill Lordy, Dennis Hughes, Steve McAlhany, Lee Mixon, and Charles Peeples.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Mrs. Cynthia B. Garrick, three sisters, Faye Evans (John) of Vance, Phyllis Collins (Ted) of Cope, and Sandra Brickle (Robert) of Norway, and two sister-in-laws, Thelma Garrick of Orangeburg and Doris Garrick of Fort Mill. Mr. Garrick is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and a special devoted friend, Bill Lordy. He was preceded in death by a son, Ruben G. Garrick, Jr., four brothers, Hilton, Ray, Freddie, and Alfred, and one sister, Bonnie G. Dick.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; at other times, friends may call at the residence.
