Ruby C Proctor's Obituary

Ruby Colette Proctor, 86 years of age, went to be with the Lord, on February 27, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Mrs. Proctor was born in Dorchester County, a daughter of the late Julius P. and Lelia Belle Connelly, and she was the widow of the late Boyd Bruce 'BB' Proctor Sr. She was a faithful and lifelong member of Canaan Baptist church of Cope. In earlier times she was a devoted Sunday school teacher, GA's, WMU, and choir member. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved gardening, quilting, feeding the humming birds, and making quilts for the Midlands Center and Veterans.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM, at Canaan Baptist Church, with Rev. Alan Woodward and Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating, the family will receive friends from 1 PM to 2PM at the church and at other times friends may call at the residence. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Freddie, Tommy, Richard, Hugo, Matthew, and Nick. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class and Donny Valentine.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Axson, of Orangeburg, Peggy Stroman (Billy) of Orangeburg, and Dianne Dukes (Donald) of Neeses, one son, Bruce Proctor (Net) of Cope, ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Richard Till, Megan and Nick Davis, Freddie and Lisa Axson, Tommy and Alicia Stroman, Donny Valentine, and Hugo Valentine, and Matthew and Crystal Proctor, Mindy and Joe Barden, Megan and Tony Ackiss, and Donald "Chip" Dukes Jr., eleven great grandchildren, Tori, Johnathan, Parker, Carter, Bryson, Luke, Ali, Jessica, Joey, Hunter, and Bella. She is also survived by three sisters, Sue and Sidney Goff, Carolyn and Hector Arias, and Julia and Edward Axson, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Lois Felder and son in law Fred Axson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Vann Beth Shuler, Melody Smoak, The Circle of Love Family Care, Becky, Sheila, Trinia, and Sabrina. Also to the Grove Park Hospice of Orangeburg.
