Stella Diane Myers Dukes' Obituary
Stella Diane Myers Dukes, 80, of Branchville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home onMarch 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 12, 1946, she was the daughter ofthe late John Lewis Judson Myers and Stella Mae Zeigler Myers.
Diane was a proud graduate of Branchville High School, Class of 1964, and a lifelong member of MountTabor Baptist Church of Branchville. She was deeply involved in her church and cherished her churchfamily. Diane dedicated many years of service to Farmers and Merchants Bank, where she retired aftera long and rewarding career.
She was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Raymond Nelson Dukes of Branchville, SouthCarolina, and together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Diane found her greatest joy in herfamily and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including sewing, working in her yard, cooking for her family, andspending time in her country home. Diane also loved animals, dining out, attending camp meetings,and making memories at the beach. She especially cherished time spent with her siblings and lovedones.
Diane is survived by her children: Shelia (John) Riser of Bowman; Raymond (Tabitha) Dukes ofBranchville; and Hollie (Brian) Dowdy of Edisto Island.
She was a proud grandmother to Judson (Emily) Riser and their son, Jack; Roxanne (Trey) Welch andtheir children, Isla and Marshall; Tanner (Eden) Dukes and their children, Avery and Addie; PeytonDukes; Landon Dukes; Nelson Dowdy; and Ava Dowdy.
She is also survived by her siblings: Gail; Linda (E.T.); and Bertie (Roger), along with many nieces,nephews, and extended family members.
Diane will be remembered for her warm heart, her strong faith, and her unwavering devotion to herfamily. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated caregivers-Ann, Cathryn,Georgetta, Paula, Pam, and Rose-for the compassionate care they provided.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Branchville, South Carolina. A funeral service will follow at 11:00a.m. in the church sanctuary, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery.
