Stella Carson Nettles' Obituary

Stella Carson Nettles, 86, of Lexington, S.C., formerly of St. George, S.C., entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 6, 2011.
Mrs. Nettles was born on October 9, 1924, in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Era Jackson Carson and Fred Carson; she was the widow of Birdie Manning Nettles. She was a member of St. George Church of Christ and a resident of upstate S.C. and Hendersonville, N.C., for the past 14 years.
Mrs. Nettles was the owner and operator of Bar-B-Q King and the St. George Decorating Center.
She was pre-deceased by her only son, Joseph Manning Nettles, and her oldest daughter, Ellen Nettles Craig, a sister, Rosa Lee Carson Nettles, and four brothers, Quillie, Fred Jr., Eddie, and Grady Carson.
Surviving are two daughters, Irene Nettles Thomas, of Taylors, S.C., and Irma Nettles Isgett and her husband, Hartwell Jut Isgett, of Greenwood, S.C. She is also survived by her sister, Thelma Carson Dixon, and her husband, Donald Keith Dixon, of Columbus, Ohio, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 9, at 3:00 p.m., at the U.D.C. Cemetery, Jim Bilton Blvd., St. George, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 121 Metts Street, St. George, S.C., 29477.
