Terence Scott Fleet's Obituary
Terence "Terry" Scott Fleet, 68, of Bowman, South Carolina, was called to his Heavenly home on December 23, 2024. Born on February 21, 1956, in Winchester, Virginia, Terry lived a life marked by hard work, passion, and love for the outdoors.
Terry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Deborah Fleet, with whom he shared many cherished years. He was a proud and loving father to his two daughters, Kate Fleet (Stephen) and Kara Leisure (Micah), and a caring and supportive stepfather to Brandon Bazzle (Kristina) and William Bazzle (Julie). He adored his grandchildren: Jakob Leisure, Lillian Leisure, Braylyn Bazzle, Zachary Bazzle, Gabriel Bazzle, Dalton Bazzle, and Addy Bazzle, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Terry built a remarkable career with CSX, holding various positions, until retiring as a signalman in 2016 after more than 40 years of service. His dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic were evident throughout his decades of service, earning him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.
Outside of his career, Terry found joy in the simple and profound pleasures of life. He loved going on long walks, exploring nature and its beauty. He was a skilled gardener with a particular fondness for his succulent collection and could easily identify the flora and fauna around him. A lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, he rarely missed a game and cheered for his favorite team with enthusiasm. He had a deep passion for American history. Terry was also an antique enthusiast who enjoyed uncovering unique treasures and an amateur meteorologist who loved tracking the weather and sharing his forecasts with family and friends. Known for his sharp wit and humor, Terry's playful teasing and quick comebacks brought endless entertainment and laughter to those around him.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Fleet; his granddaughter, Addy Bazzle; and his beloved Chihuahua, Ellie May, who was his faithful companion for many years.
He is survived by his father, Ross "Pop" Fleet, and his brother, Frank Fleet. He is also survived by his wife, Deborah Fleet; his daughters, Kate Fleet and Kara Leisure; his stepsons, Brandon Bazzle and William Bazzle; and his many treasured grandchildren.Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30th at Rigby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the SPCA in Terry's memory.
Terry faced life with resilience, humor, and an unmatched love for those around him. His legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched, reminding us to cherish each moment, face challenges with courage, and live life to its fullest.
