Thelma Wynns Thompson's Obituary
Branchville
Thelma Thompson, 93, of Branchville passed away on Monday morning November 4, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Badham, SC, the daughter of the late James Tucker Wynns and Bertha Myers Wynns Wilson. She was the widow of the late Richard Ernest Thompson.
She was the oldest member of Prospect Southern Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for twenty-five plus years. She was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, sang in the choir, and reviewed a lifetime membership in the Sherrie Tittirus Missionary Society.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 3:00 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church, 344 Flatwoods Road, Branchville, S.C. with the Rev. William Collett and Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Wyatt Kirven, Dalton Ethridge, Kobie Kirven, Kyle Freeman, Clint Berry, and Sammie Murray.
Honorary pallbearers are Hal Felder, E. T. Spires, James Lewis, David Gaskins, Bob Whitlock, Franklin McAlhany.
She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Kirven and Savon (Paul) Gramling, both of Bowman, four grandchildren, Joel (Stephanie) Kirven, Ernie (Michelle) Kirven, Carmen (Patrick) Wilson, and Tonya (Wayne) Freeman, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kobie, Rudy and Darla Kirven, Evan Willaims, Hunter and Nathan Bauer, Jake Kirven, Dalton and Jordan Ethridge, and Kyle, Alec and Kinsley Freeman; three sisters, Doris Berry of Bowman, Bernice Tanner of West Columbia, and Elsie Smith of Charleston. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Bacot and a granddaughter, Beverly Ethridge.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with much wisdom, great faith, and was a role model for her family. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and following her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sports events and other extra curricular activities.
Visitation will be held at Ott's Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 6pm - 8pm. Visits and calls may also be received at her residence.
