Branchville
Thomas Mixon Barrs (Mick), a lifelong resident of Branchville, SC, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, the 23 of September 2008 in Orangeburg, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. Barrs are invited to attend the funeral service at Branchville United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2pm. The service will be conducted by Pastor Dean Deer with interment in Ott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald V. Wimberly, Jr., D.L Thompson, Eddie McAlhany, David Martin, Willis Culler and Claude McAlhany, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, SC.

Mr. Barrs was born in Branchville, SC on Feb. 24, 1951, the son of Kivy Lewell Barrs and Louise Lane Barrs. He graduated Branchville High School and was in the building construction business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved sports.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 34 years, Ramona Perkins Barrs and his parents. Mr. Barrs is survived by three children: Thomas Mixon Barrs, Jr. (Tammy King
Barrs), William Wesley Barrs, Jr (Melody Pate Barrs), Lacy Susanne Barrs Insua (Israel Insua) of Branchville, SC., six grandchildren: Destiny Michelle Barrs, Douglas William Andrew Barrs, Tristen Alivia Barrs, Allison Grace Barrs, Nicholas Thomas Insua and Amber Nichole Insua. One brother, William Lane Barrs of Atlanta, GA, two sisters, Ann Barrs Walters and Marcia Barrs Jackson of Reevesville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Barrs will be remembered as one who willingly served his fellowman in many ways, especially after the recent tornado in Branchville when he gladly gave his expertise and help to those whose homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. He knew he was richly blessed with a loving family. He lived by his Lord's words, "Of him to whom much has been given, much is expected.
