Wayne D Simpson's Obituary

Mr. Wayne Darell "Samp" Simpson, 63 years of age, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Simpson was born in Georgia, a son of the late Charles L. Simpson and Gertrude Dukes Simpson. He was retired from the St. George Department of Transportation; he was a charter member of the Cattle Creek Fire Department, an avid golfer, a devoted Carolina Gamecock fan, and a lifelong resident of the Dorange Community.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 4:00 P.M., at Beulah Baptist Church, with Rev. James Dukes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are, Stevie Westbury, Phillip Crosby, Rob Moore, Harold Felder, Bubba Rickborn, and Andy Stanley. The family will receive friends, from 2 to 4 P.M., at the church.
Mr. Simpson is survived by two brothers, Lee Stearns (Sue) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Glennis Simpson (Maralene) of Rowesville, and two sisters, Louise Rickborn (Neil) of St. George, and Amy Crosby (David Rumph) of Grover. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
