I was Willie's roommate my freshman year at The Citadel. Willie's obit mentioned his love for hunting. I would often tag along for raccoon hunts at midnight with Willie and his dad on James Island and we always got a coon. His dogs were well trained and I could hear the dogs yelp and scream when the raccoon was treed.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. The loss of a father is indescribable. I have many wonderful memories of riding horses with him. He is definitely a memorable person. Cherish all the memories. They will get you through many days.
My memories of Willie are from a few rabbit hunts in recent years. He enjoyed his dogs as they gave chase to their targets. I learned of his passing only today. My condolences to his family. Legare Johnson

A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Revelation 21:4 "And he (GOD) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore. The former things have passed away." May you all have calming and pleasant thoughts during this time.
