William "Billy" Herndon's Obituary
Bowman
William Heyward "Billy" Herndon Sr., 86 years of age, died Saturday, June 24, 2017. Billy was born in Smoaks, a son of the late Lonnie B Herndon and Chessie Mae Myers Herndon. He was a member of Prospect Southern Methodist Church, a member Bowman Masonic Lodge #290, and the Omar Shrine; he loved cutting grass; he was the widower of the late Jane W. Herndon.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating; burial will follow at Rigby Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home; at other times, friends may call at the residence.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Terry) Fleet and Janice Simpkins, both of Bowman, one sister, Julia Herndon Westberry, of St. Matthews, ten grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by one son, William Heyward Herndon Jr., one great grandchild Addilyn Grace Bazzle, and eleven siblings.
