I first met Lee and her husband, Russell, when we were fellow members of then, St. John's UMC on John's Island that, sadly, has now closed. Lee and Russell became good friends. Many years after I left John's Island to prepare for ministry in the UMC, I rediscovered Lee on a happenstance visit to The Methodist Home in Orangeburg, where she served an custodian of the chapel on the campus. Lee and her husband, Russell, were salt of the earth kind of people who inspired many of their friends with their genuine and strong faith. I am grateful to have known and loved them both. They made a difference in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you, now, as you acknowledge and celebrate her life.
