Branchville, Mrs. Eva Magdalene "Mag" Smoak, 87 years of age, died Monday January 26, 2009 at The Regional Medical center in Orangeburg. Mrs. Smoak was born in Orangeburg Co. a daughter of the late Willie David Wiles, and Fannie Read Obituary

We received the news of Aunt Mag's passing with sadness - but mixed with the joy of knowing that she is with her Savior. We know how you will miss her in the days ahead and you all are in our prayers as you go on. Our son Lance called to tell of the time that he and Russell went across the field to deliver something to Aunt Mag. She said they must have something for their trouble and gave them a full liter bottle of Tab. That says a lot. We remember Aunt Mag as being happy and giving. She was always looking out for us little guys even as far back as the 50's when we would visit from Ohio. A great memory is of her cooking a 7 course breakfast...while having time for me underfoot. My Aunt Mag was a great example of southern hospitality. We thank God for her and the memories that your family gave us.
We extend to the family of Mrs. Mag Smoak our sincere condolence. It was good that she walked among us on earth as she lived the Christian Faith as a servant of the Master. She will be missed by friends and family.
Lori and Smoak family, I am sorry to hear of Mrs.Smoak passing. She was a very loving and caring person. She will be missed by all who knew her. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. May The Lord wrap his loving arms around you during this difficult time.
We are so sorry for your loss (and ours). Aunt Mag was very special to us and we have wonderful memories from childhood and on that we'll enjoy as we fondly think of her and all of her family - you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time, but we rejoice with you as we know she is with the Lord. Praise God!
