Sandra, I've just learned of the sad news of Johnny's passing and my heart is breaking for you and your sons. Johnny was a highlight during my high school years. He was funny and quite a jokester -- I'll never forget his big smile. You all had a wonderful, loving relationship and I am proud to have known him. Love to you. Sandra Courie

Dear Sandra and family,
We were out of town when we found out about John's passing. We will always remember what a good Dad and husband John Short was during our time on the Isle of Palms. He was so supportive during Scouts, sports, and other activities when our boys were growing up. We'll keep you in our prayers. Beryl and Harris

Johnny served his state and national well in law enforcement and military. In this service he amassed a large circle of friends who mourn his death. However, his friends will pleasantly recall knowing and serving with him. Sandra, you, the children and granchildren are in our thoughts and prayers. John A. Shuler

Sandra and family, It seems like yesterday
when we were all in school making life miserable for all our teachers. I will always have wonderful memories of those times and especially of Johnny.
Please know that you all are in my thoughts
and prayers and will continue to be in the days and weeks to come.
