Mr. Johnny Mack Short Sr., 65 years of age, died Friday, May 21, 2010. Mr. Short was born in Rockingham, NC, a son of the late Eddie G. Short, and Estell P. Short. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, a former member of the National Guard & Arm Services for 16 years, and was a SC Highway Patrol officer for 8 years.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 24, 2010, at 3:30 P.M., at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services.
Mr. Short is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Short, two sons, Johnny M. Short Jr. of Goose Creek, and Toby Seth Short and wife Stephanie, of McLean VA. Also surviving are one granddaughter, Keeley Elizabeth Short, two grandsons, Seth Armany Short, and Cooper Avery Short, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Family will receive friends Sunday, from 5 to 7 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, 7305 Freedom Rd. Branchville, SC, 29432, (803) 274-8889. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church cemetery fund.
