Mrs. Shirley A. McAlhany, 75 years of age, died Thursday, May 30, 2013. Mrs. McAlhany was born in Orangeburg, a daughter or the late Spurgeon and Daisy Pearson Mount. She was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church in Orangeburg; she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville, with Rev. Kevin Ard and Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in McAlhany Cemetery in Branchville.
Mrs. McAlhany is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman E. McAlhany, one son, Eddie McAlhany (Karen), one daughter, Sheryl M. Brown (Henry), both of Orangeburg, one brother, Bobby Mount (Betty), one sister, Betty Felder, five grandchildren, Courtney McAlhany, Andrea Brown, Allison McAlhany, Rachael Brown, and Katie McAlhany, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2013, from 5 to 7 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville. At other times, friends may call at the residence. Memorials can be made to Rivelon Baptist Church, 395 Rivelon Rd., Orangeburg, SC, 29115.
