Vernon Berry, 82 years of age, died Tuesday, October 11, 2106. Vernon was born in Colleton Co., a son of the late John W.R. Berry and Virginia Grimes Berry. Vernon was an avid sports fan, loved gardening and spending time on the Edisto River. Vernon was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy; he loved his country and was a faithful member of Berea Advent Christian Church,
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 14, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with Rev. Mike Lupo and Rev. Dale Hutto, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services.
Vernon is survived by his companion of 18 years, Aquilla S. Lyons, one son, Robert S."Robbie" Berry (Darlene) and one daughter, Gayle Berry, one grandson, Matthew Berry, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie H. Berry and one sister, Dot Barrs.
